At Kearney Moving, we treat your belongings with the utmost care to prevent damage. However, we recognize that issues can occasionally occur during the moving process. To ensure a smooth resolution, please review the guidelines below before submitting a claim. Please note that your settlement will be determined by the specific valuation coverage selected at the start of your move.

Local & Intrastate Customers

All licensed Nebraska movers are regulated by the Nebraska Public Service Commission and are required to follow tariff laws governing the claims process.  Please read the summary below and submit the claims form below.

  1. Written Claim Requests: Kearney Moving reserves the right to request all claims to be submitted in writing. Upon review of your digital submission, we will notify you if a formal, signed document is necessary for further processing.
  2. Resolution & Restitution: We reserve the option to resolve claims by repairing or replacing lost or damaged property with materials of comparable kind, quality, and condition. Once a resolution is reached, Kearney Moving endeavors to finalize the claim within a reasonable timeframe, subject to the complexity of the claim and current scheduling.
  3. Liability Limits: Kearney Moving’s total liability is strictly limited to the valuation coverage selected and documented on your Bill of Lading.
  4. Reporting Deadlines: To ensure a thorough investigation, damages should be reported immediately. Formal claims must be submitted within 90 days of the delivery date.
  5. Excluded Items & High-Value Articles: Kearney Moving assumes no liability for high-value or irreplaceable items, including but not limited to: currency, jewelry, precious stones, securities, deeds, or articles of extraordinary inherent value. Such items must be specifically listed on the Bill of Lading to be considered for coverage.
  6. Inspection Rights: To verify liability and assess damages, Kearney Moving reserves the right to physically inspect and investigate all items involved in a claim.
