Kearney Moving Legacy
Someone once said that, “Legacy is not leaving something behind for other people. It’s leaving something behind in other people.”
That’s what happened to us at Kearney Moving Service. We come to work every day with the responsibility to steward resources that a previous generation worked hard to acquire and pass on. We have a piece of property, buildings, equipment, a loyal customer base, and a fantastic reputation. We’re so grateful for these, but the legacy left for us, while including these things, goes well beyond anything material, because the people that built this business also built into us an example of godliness and imprinted on us a desire to serve the Lord in our work.

Justin Halbgewachs
Former Owner (In Remembrance)
From the perspective of a biblical worldview, the most important part of a legacy is passing on faith in Christ and instilling in the next generation a zeal for the Lord. Justin labored tirelessly in the work of the business, but nothing was ever more important to him than serving the Lord. He was a Christ follower first, a faithful husband, father, local church elder, music ministry leader and disciple-maker. Justin kept those priorities at the forefront while being an entrepreneur and business owner at the same time, and he showed us a tremendous example of how to steward a business with a chief purpose to glorify God. Justin was called home to the Lord early after a battle with cancer, but his legacy lives on by instilling in us a passion to serve for the glory of Christ.

Dan McElvain
Former Property Manager
Dan is one of the finest examples of faithfulness and generosity we have ever known. Working for him was like working for family, and we’ve learned so much from his example of hard work, integrity, and authentic Christian life. If Dan was going to do it, he always did it right – he never cut corners or compromised on quality, and he expected the same from us. Dan is so well known and highly respected in and around our community that many people still choose to work with us on account of his connection and influence here. Without Dan’s efforts and careful stewardship, we wouldn’t be where we are today. Thankfully, Dan still frequents the shop and checks in on us from time to time, even occasionally lending a hand.
